Companies are asking workers to train AI models and quietly stopping junior hires. Law firms, engineering teams, and professional services are either reducing or eliminating entry-level roles. The doomsday rhetoric is AI displacing humans, but my concern is a subset of that: if there are no juniors being trained today, where do the seniors come from in ten years? Either this creates a gap no one is preparing for, or this is the evolution and the path to seniority changes entirely. I’m not sure which, but I don’t think there’s enough discussion about this.
